Raindrops on Peony (Scarlet O’Hara’s Tears)

20 Oct 2013 / in

This type of peony is called Scarlet O’Hara for its deep red/maroon color. Printed in black and white, the red is transformed into black. The raindrops are painted with acrylic Tar Gel to give the them a realistic convex/bubble look and feel to the touch – the droplets stand off the photograph. The photograph is printed on a sheet of high gloss aluminum, and has a hint of a 1940’s Hollywood style.
