Its official – I am now an islander!! I now have my new art studio set up overlooking the Georgia Straight and am excited to be part of island life. My main focus is no longer studio photography, I am now exploring and photographing the landscapes of beautiful Vancouver Island. Since my move I’ve had one gallery showing at The Ladysmith Waterfront Gallery and have an upcoming show and sale at the renowned Filberg Festival – http://filbergfestival.com/ in late July.
My work is getting a wonderful amount of positive feedback from the island art community and I feel as tho I have finally “landed”.
Now the work begins – I am presently building a new portfolio called “Macro Florals”. The island has soo many stunning array of botanical inspirations I can hardly contain myself. I sleep with visions of perfectly focused stamen still looming in my mind from hours of editing my work after a shoot. Even the underwater gardens are stunning! This is a shot I took two weeks ago on Long Beach near Tofino. These are called “Anemones” and they grow in tide pools. It will be printed on aluminum and painted with acrylic gel mediums. Cant wait to start painting!!
